Kinder-running

Yikes. When you don't post, it's hard to post. People stop coming by. You aren't motivated. Oh, well. Still love blogging. I'm still here. I watch all my favorite blogs. Yes, that's you.
My little one went to Kindergarten. I am so busy with the class and PTA. Woa. and we are looking for a new house. And I am working more and more, but that means creating less. I really thought for a minute I was going to do my own booth on Sundays at the farmers market....Soccer came along on Sundays. My little one cries on the field. He needs me. No booth for now. My auntie has cancer. I cook for her sometimes. We go to a cancer support group. That was one reason we moved back here, so we could be with her. I'm glad we are here. Happy Fall everyone...Here are chemo hats I make for auntie,

rugs I've been crocheting, and a photo from the La Fluer Barn sale in Fallbrook, CA. xo, juls

Prissy

I've lost some photos. Photos of our vacation, projects I created. I hate that.

Did you see the Somerset Studio Fearless Magazine? I did discover julienuttingdesigns in there. Neat artist. Well, this is the prissy little chair cover I made for my sewing/office/craft space. It is a prelude to something. Not perfect by any means, but the cover came out exactly the way I wanted it to. Who knew?

favorite ways to vaca

Hi all, the little family went vacationing down to Oceanside, Ca. We ventured over to Legoland 3 days since the beach weather was rather cool. But yours truly got to thrift for 4 days. Here is my favorite spot: Didn't find a whole lot. Also I did discover this cool fabric store, Maisonnette. So cute. I was starving for a cute vintage store and was not disappointed.

I purchased this paper flower, was inspired by this softee toy, and fell for her beautiful idea board.
Visit her here: http://www.maisonetteoceanside.com/
My sweet hubby took us out for my favorite dinner:

Here's my little R surfin in the sand. I hope you get to your favorite place to vaca this summer, too. I've also been doing the Siesta Bible Study with Beth Moore. It is the book of Ruth and we are doing the Kelly Minter living room series. I'm enjoying it so much. Dontcha just love Beth Moore? I really do. xo, juls

Mammoth Thrifting and work

Do you see this stack? This is my work for the last 3 months. It is a transcript from a seven-week trial I did back in October. Do you see that smile on my face? If I could make it bigger, it would be about six-feet wide. That is the reason my posts are so far and in between. But on to the good part. These plates were from a little favorite thrift store in Mammoth Lakes. I can never remember the name of the place. But aren't these the sweetest things. There are four of the white and 14 of the red pattern approx. Aaaaaa, I love plates. Can't wait to use them....xo, juls up.

come back and sit a spell

I am not a goner. I have moved to another state. You know how it goes, unpack, unpack, unpack. Yuck. But, I did plant some tomatoes. I am finishing a 2000 page transcript for my work. And that is why I have been away. Did I mention my son turned 5?

Here is a pic of my master bath before and after. It was a challenge to figure out how to disquise a really strange set up. There is a window in the tub. Anyway, these are the things I have been a doin'. Wait till you see some of the slips. Oh, la, la....xo, juls

A gift for Diamond

Don't you love hand dyed slips? Oh, the colors, the pretty textures, the frill of it all. Well, I started collecting the slips. This slip was an ordinary beige. I bought the dye. And voila, here is my first one. The beautiful model, Diamond, is the recipient of the coco/maroon coloured and lightly embellished slip. I am really pleased with the colour and the way it took on the hue. Thank you to Diamond for modeling my first creation. She's gorgeous, don't you think? You are the best, girl....xo, juls

Hello Girls

Meet the girls. They came from "The Fish" thrift store in Carson City. When I saw these little handmade beauties, I knew they belonged to me. They donned my Christmas tree and have been hanging out in the living room ever since...I just imagine someone making these girls by hand. Each one is so sweet with the hand stitched tail feathers and eyes. I can't imagine why after all the work these ladies landed in the box I found them in for $2. xo, juls

San Fran

The Family all went to San Fran for a few days. We went to attend a wedding, which, of course can be stressful. It was. The little family was fortunate enough to be able to visit a few fun places. Here is my little guy and me on the Warf. Yes, I took a picture of seafood that was in the counter being hawked by some hotties...I didn't have the nerve to shoot the hotties.

Of course, we went for sourdough bread. See the gal there in Boudine's Bread factory. She's making teddy bears. So cute. We bought a turtle and ate it up.
I shopped very little. I was able to visit a ribbon store. It was very cute. I paid an exorbitant amount of money for ribbon. When I later looked at the bag, I felt perhaps I was shorted on some of the yardage. Needless to say, I will never again pay prices like that for ribbon - ever.

Here was a quick shot of some cool houses. I didn't snap too many pics. But here is a neat photo of the Academy of Arts and Science rain forest.
Thanks for coming along. xo, juls
